Description
The Teres VTA adapter provides repeatable, on-the-fly adjustment of
vertical tracking angle (VTA) for a wide variety of tonearms. The luxury
of precise, on-the-fly VTA adjustment is no longer reserved for only
a few high priced tonearms. Now even a lowly Rega RB-250 can have VTA
adjustability that is every bit as precise, repeatable, and easy to use
as a Graham or Tri-planar.
The adapter assembly consists of three
components:
- sleeve - attaches to the armboard
- slider - attaches to the tonearm post.
- adjustment knob - threads into the sleeve to control the height of the
slider.
The slider attaches to the tonearm post with brass tipped setscrews that
do not damage threads or mar the surface of the post. A slot machined into the
slider locks into the sleeve preventing rotation during adjustment. Two
setscrews lock the slider firmly in place once adjustment has been completed.
The fine thread pitch used on the adjustment knob provides fine control of
tonearm height. Each graticule mark on the adjustment knob corresponds to one
thousandth of an inch in tonearm height. This level of precision and
repeat-ability makes it a breeze to find the VTA sweet spot for even the
most sensitive cartridges.
All adapter components are machined from solid brass with an attractive
nickel plate finish. The Teres adapter provides a very rigid and solid
tonearm mounting for the best possible sound. An allen driver is included for
added convenience.
