Description
At Teres Audio we have experimented with a wide variety of materials in our
quest for greater fidelity. This quest led us to the unconventional use of
dense hardwoods as the primary material in the construction of our
turntables. However, the required wood stabilization techniques make hardwood
an expensive choice. Our quest for better materials has continued and we
recently discovered a unique material that is far superior to aluminum and
plastics (arcylic, PVC, Delrin, etc). At last we have found a practical and
affordable material that delivers musical performance that is on par with
dense hardwoods.
Our new composite platter uses a proprietary material with a natural
satin black appearance. As with our previous platters this platter uses
lead shot to damp resonances and to increase rotational stability. This
composite platter significantly outperfoms our now retired lead/acrylic
platters.
As with our hardwood platters the composite platter excels in conveying
subtle musical textures. The presentation is very detailed and also has the
natural warmth and ease of a live performance.
