Orey's system has the rare honor of having the best sound I have ever heard. This is an honor that I have never granted before. As I have listened to various systems each has had a different set of strengths and weaknesses making it impossible to identify a "best" system. Well that was before hearing Orey's remarkable system. In just about every category we use to describe a good sound system (detail, sound-stage, dynamics, etc.) Orey has managed to produce the best.
The heart of Orey's system (and what I think is to blame for the great sound) is this 450TL based single ended amp producing a whopping 150 watts. The dynamics and the authority from this amp are simply stunning. At the same time these massive 450TL's produce subtle nuances and inner detail superbly. It is quite a feat to have such power and delicacy from the same amp. However, these amps are not for the faint hearted. With a 4200v power supply and a plate dissipation of almost 400 watts these amps are extremely hazardous and would quickly dispatch domestic pets or careless visitors.
