Ken has built a superbly musical system that takes the prize for the most "bang for the buck". Ken likes simple but elegant circuits and for the most part uses inexpensive vintage components. The results may be low tech and low budget, but the sound is anything but low end.
Ken recently modified this Audio Note DAC. With no oversampling and great sounding 56 tubes driving the output it produces some of the best sounding digital my ears have heard.
Check out Ken's vintage looking, 56 based preamp. It sounds as good as it looks! I love those funky looking globe 56's.
Evolving from single ended 45s, Ken's amp is now using nickel pate 300b's.
Ken's Electro-Voice 12" coaxial speakers (12TRXB) are efficient, SE friendly and sound very, very good. Best of all he picked them up at a garage sale for $25.
