The building went pretty smooth. I took some MDF, made 4 layers of which the two layers in between the other two where routed and filled with very fine sand for damping. I painted it in high gloss black, but the top is veneered with birds eye maple and lacquered with 10 layers of high gloss clear lacquer. The armbourd was made the same way. I put the TT on three black anodised duraluminium cones and mounted a SME 3009R arm with a Sumiko Blue Point HOMC cartridge. The battery supply is mounted in a MDF case veneered with maple birds eye veneer and lacquered with 10 layers of high gloss lacquer. Looks are stunning!! But also the sound. Bass is tight but full with a fine balance towards the mid and the treble. It has a very wide but focused sound stage. Finally this TT is very easy to operate.
You can see the battery supply on the floor between the speaker and the equipment rack.
