Serial #19 - May 13 2001, Steve Dass - Colorado Springs, Colorado

Here is my version of the Teres. It is constructed from a variety of materials. For good karma the heart of my plinth is a reincarnated acrylic and lead platter from the beginnings of an earlier diy turntable which never reached completion. Above this is a layer of 1/8" sorbothane and an Oak top plate/cover. The top is bolted to the lead/acrylic with six 1/4-20 stainless steel flat head screws A rubber O-ring under the head of each screw helps to decouple the top plate. Under the lead/acrylic is a 1" PVC spacer which is counterbored to hide the bearing nut. The feet are Corian and the arm pillar is stainless steel, acrylic and lead. I'm using an RB300 tonearm with a Benz Silver cartidge and am quite impressed with the sound. Much more of what is on the record is now making it's way to my speakers.
